Still Looking Closely...

There probably comes a time when you need to stop looking closely and move on. Wherever that time is, apparently I've not arrived. There's just too damn much holding my attention right here to even consider moving on...

I've not been able to type (or doodle) in the last week or so, due to out-of-the-flipping-blue-inexplicably painful joints in my hands and fingers. Who knew joints were so necessary? Oh. Everyone but me. I see.

Although currently, I'm not as "fine" as I'd like to be (ah, but will I ever? hah!), at least I can (finally!) type a sentence or two. While I was out of commission (sounds much more official put that way), I took longish walks and let Nature do her amazing Magic on me.

I sound fairly calm about all this joint-pain-out-of-no-where-crap, don't I? You should have heard me last week. Below is sample of the shenanigans:

Me:This is fucking unacceptable.
Body: Oh yeah?
Me: Yeah! Now type damn it.
Body: Sure.
Me: Freaking ouch already. Type withOUT pain, please.
Body: Oh. Without pain? Why didn't you say so? No.
Me: No???
Body: No.
Me: At least turn it down a notch, would ya?
Body: Uh, no.
Me: F*ck you, Body!! F*ck you AND f*ck the horse you f*cking rode in on!!!! Who the hell do you think you are??? If I want to type, I should be able to type. You are NOT the boss of me!!!
Body: Oh yeah?
Me: ^^$@$!! ##! ^@$! !$!@$*!@#&$******&(&##@!!!***$!@#$!!$@#$@@@~~!!#!!#$%$#$!#!#!

The balance of the conversation has been deleted due to the graphic nature of the violence that ensued.

Thanks for tuning in and hope all is well with you.

    1. Absodamnlutely. Without that peaceful affect of nature, I would have totally lost (more of) my mind this last week or so. Glad you liked the photos, Jeremy!

  4. Wow! Great pics. You've got a ton of flowers already. I hope the cold I hear went east doesn't knock them out.

Not being able to type sounds horrible. I'm so glad you're better.

    1. Thanks, RA! I love taking photos of flowers. Something about it soothes me. I have a brown thumb, so I have to make do with snapping pics of other people's gardens.

  5. Speaking of "RA"... NO DOUBT you've heard it all by the *real* lab coats by now, but any news on giving this nasty bastard a name, like Rheumatoid Arthritis or Gout? It seems a ceremonial cleanse might be in order! I'm thinking fire, dancing naked, a small sacrifice perhaps... in keeping with Lent a week or so back of course, and your favorite beverage prepared in a Pimped out cup! Soda and Beer should probably be stricken from the list. High acidic content and all. Poo.

I love your stolen flower garden pics! You may have brown thumbs, but your photographer's eye still works! They're wonderful!

Much Healing and Peace coming your way, IK!

    1. Hallelujah! I'll accept all the healing and peace I can!

As to getting a "name" for this unpleasant joint pain, the white coats are still scrambling. All my tests have come back negative for Rheumatoid Arthritis and Gout. Three of the white coats have called me a "medical mystery." Gee, thanks. Is there a prize associated with this honor? Like say, a reduction on my bill!?! Nope. At this point, I'm just about done with them and am considering going completely holistic. So I just may be dancing naked near a fire. As to the sacrifice...hmm...how about one of those white coats? Oh all right. Maybe a chocolate cake. That's a REAL sacrifice! Hah!

Glad you enjoyed my pics. Thanks, Scarlett xo

  6. I hate joint pain, I have a horrible time with my knees and hips thanks to lovely injuries from sports and dancing growing-up. Who know staying in shape would cost me in my thirties :) I hope that you start feeling better! You pics are beautiful, as always!

    1. Yeah, what's up with that??? I was athletic, too. Not any more!! I'm sorry to hear that you suffer, as well. An anti-inflammatory diet helps, but unfortunately, nothing is making it go away.

Thanks for the well-wishes, Frugal and glad you liked the pics! :)

  8. My poor Intricate Knot! Wow, I thought I was the only one that has conversations with my body. At least you had the balls to post one! I send you my love and complete understanding-- I've had back surgery, leg and ankle surgery, on top of finding out 2 years ago that I have another herniated disc and I am not even 30 yet! There are days I literally can't get out of bed and sometimes days that sitting at the computer to post something on my blog feels impossible to do. So I send you my well wishes and we are not going anywhere!

Anyway, I know this is terribly late, but I awarded you with another blog award! You can check it out HERE. I seriously can't keep up with them myself, so if you feel like replying back go for it, no rush. If not, just know I think your blog is awesome :)

    Anyway, get better!

    xoxo

  11. I don't think you realize how important joints - or health generally - are until you get problems with them. I have problems with my knees.. hating it. But it's not so bad, I got some NSAIDS a couple of years ago, and then I've only had pain now and then.

    1. You are so right, Sinead. We don't realize how important our health is, until we don't have it! Unfortunately, I haven't found a NSAID that hasn't given me a reaction. :( Maybe I'll find a winner soon!

  12. I am the Queen of Not Letting Things Go.....is there a support group or a pill for that?

Love your pics and love that you still find the beauty in things around you. Love the conversation with your body. They can't take away your sense of humor and your spirit my friend.

    Hope you're feeling better. xo

Really glad you like the pics, Kranky. If we cannot continue to find beauty and humor in life, then I believe that we've given up. I'm not giving up. Thanks for stopping by xo
