It's a Strange Life...

But someone's got to live it. Might as well be me.

This is my most recent snail doodle. I call them Nick & Nora. Yeah, I know. I'm seeking help, but can't find anyone who specializes in weirdo doodlers who have no delusions of grandeur. Plenty of them deal with delusions of grandeur types. Go figure. At this point I do believe I deserve a specialist, so if you do know of anyone, please feel free to pass their name on to me.

My inspiration. Sigh. Ah, to have been born in a 1934 madcap detective movie...

  1. It's great to be different, to have your own veiw on life. I think your drawings are great. Good luck with them

    1. I think we should start a Weirdo Contingent, an Outside-the-"Norm"-of-Society-and-We're-Liking-It group. Ironically, there is probably more of "us" than "them." Hah! Thanks so much for stopping by, Jarmara.

  2. Loving the two snails together, Nick looks incredibly dapper and Nora looks so, so chic!

Gonna have to watch 'Thin Man' movies to get a (very minute) handle on how you think! HA!

Your drawings (not doodles) are great but these two are a cut above and I for one welcome our new snail overlords!

    1. If you can get a handle on how I think, you'll be one up on me. Hah! So very glad that you're keen to experience the rulership of snails. I think we're in for an interesting ride. Thanks, MrGG. :)

  3. Who really wants to be normal anyway, whatever normal may be. I like Nick & Nora very much. I like Mr. Green's use of "snail overlords" :)

    1. I know! MrGG's comment made me laugh! Glad you like Nick & Nora. As to normal, I believe you're right and since I can't seem to even try to be "normal" anymore, I'll just go with it. x

  4. Oh Knoty if you were normal you wouldn't be so awesome! Normal is over rated, boring really!

    2. I have one question for you: "Can you do dope?"

LOL Please. It hurts. I'm getting a stitch in my side!

I know I remember those Thin Man movies on late night television when I was a kid. Watching reruns of reruns of reruns, of course. Nick and Nora are a hoot! Did you see him give her the wibbly-wobbly lawn chair? Saw that comin'!

I love your wee little overlords! They're all dudded up in their evening's best. And hey, best of luck, er... uh, I mean Happy Wishes to MrGreenGenes getting a handle on how you think! I'm picturing an on/off button beneath your sweater. Damn, there go those filters again.

*wink wink nudge nudge know what I mean*

  6. My eyes are closing at an alarming rate at the present moment. I suppose this is my only excuse for having Replied to Yellowdog Granny. *g*

Since I'm here... One of a kind trumps "normal"!

    1. Funny you should ask. People are always wondering, "what are you on??", but all this oddness just comes naturally to me. Perhaps if I took dope, it would counteract my natural dopiness and I'd be "normal"...but then who knows what would actually happen? I'm not willing to risk the safety of Earth to test it.

Yes, I LOVE The Thin Man series. Truly, they do not make movies like that anymore. Glad you enjoyed them, too, Scarlett. Let's make a huge bowl of buttered popcorn, pour some wine, break out the candy (why? was it in jail? poor, poor candy, we must set you free) and watch one or three of them tonight...sigh. Now I've got the Beach Boy's "Wouldn't It Be Nice" playing in my head.

I hope you managed to pull away from your computer and to your bed with your eyes still open! Thanks for making time to visit me and my "wee snail overlords." I'm sure they'll remember it (snails are a bit like elephants in the memory department) and will think kindly of you once they've taken over (officially).

Until we meet again *g* and xo.

  7. "I'm not willing to risk the safety of Earth to test it."

    THAT is priceless, IK!

"...Then we wouldn't have to wait so long!
And wouldn't it be nice to live together
In the kind of world where we be-long!"

Yes, it would. Yes, it would.
*waves from the crowd with 'snackies' in her arms*

Maybe you should put the salt shaker in a safe spot. Wouldn't want your wee overlords to get themselves into a tight spot with their own personal brand of kryptonite.

    1. I knew I could count on you to bring "snackies," Scarlett! xo

And OMG, you're right. No wonder the wee overlords have been in hiding today. Not to worry. I'll get rid of the s-a-l-t.

  8. I immediately associate Nick and Nora with that "Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist" movie. Damn. The writers stole those characters!:)
